RCR BIOSCOPES International Short Film Festival 2026 is a multilingual short-film festival bringing together filmmakers, artists, audiences and the film industry in Bangalore.
The festival features short-film screenings, awards, networking, creative activities, industry interaction and entertainment programmes.

Q1. Who can submit films?
Short filmmakers from India and worldwide can submit their films. All age groups and genders are welcome. The festival is multilingual.
Q2. What are the duration categories?
There are three duration categories:
- 5 to 8 minutes
- 8 to 15 minutes
- 15 to 20 minutes
Q3. Are all languages accepted?
Yes. Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, English and other languages are accepted.
English subtitles are mandatory for non-English films.
Q4. What is the last date to submit?
The final Late Deadline is 20th November 2026.

Q5. What is the submission fee?
Duration: 5–8 Minutes
- Early Bird: ₹1,499/-
- Regular: ₹2,499/-

Q6. Where can I submit my film?
Films can be submitted through the RCR BIOSCOPES website or through FilmFreeway.

Q7. Can I submit multiple films?
Yes. Each film requires a separate submission and submission fee.
Q8. What is the production date eligibility?
Films produced after 1st January 2020 are preferred.
Q9. When will selected films be announced?
The Official Selection list will be announced by 30th November 2026 through email and social media.
Q10. What do selected filmmakers receive?
- 2 Free Delegate Passes for 6 days
- Screening Certificate
- Nominee Trophy
- Festival Kit
Q11. Will all selected films be screened theatrically?
Yes. All 200 selected films will be screened.
Q12. Can I attend the screening if I am not selected?
Yes. Audience tickets will be available online and at the venue.
Q13. What is the total awards and prize money?
₹50,00,000
The festival features awards and prizes with total prize money of up to ₹50 Lakhs.
Q14. What are the main awards?
Best Film — ₹10,00,000
This amount is divided among the three duration categories.
1st Runner-Up — ₹5,00,000
This amount is divided among the three duration categories.
2nd Runner-Up — ₹3,00,000
This amount is divided among the three duration categories.
Audience Choice — ₹2,00,000

Yes. Awards include:
- Best Film in each duration category
- Best Director

Q16. Do winners receive a trophy and certificate?
Yes. All winners receive a Trophy + Certificate + Media Coverage.
Q17. When and where is the festival?
The festival will be held in December 2026 at J J Auditorium, Bangalore.
Q18. What is the festival schedule?
There will be four sessions per day.
Film screenings will take place over 5 days, from 09:00 AM to 07:00 PM.
Every day from 07:00 PM to 10:00 PM, creative entertainment activities will be held, including songs, music, dance, ramp walks and stage programmes.
Day 6: Grand Finale, Prizes and Award Night.

- Single Session: ₹199
- Single Session — Students: ₹99
- Day Pass — All 4 Sessions: ₹499
- Festival Pass — 6 Days: ₹1,999
- Student Pass — 6 Days: ₹999
Q20. Is food provided?
Food will be available at the venue cafeteria.
Delegate Pass holders will receive lunch coupons.
Q21. Is there a dress code for Award Night?
Formals or traditional attire is recommended. A Red Carpet will be arranged for nominees and guests.

Yes. The festival will receive coverage through TV, print media, online portals and official social media channels.
